A genuine laugh was his reward. "Now you're just fishing."
"It's green. Your favorite color is green," he announced with certainty.
His change in demeanor took her by surprise. "How did you know that?" she asked, astonished.
"Just a lucky guess."
They hadn't know each other long enough for her to realize he was lying. James T. Kirk didn't believe in luck.
